Safety Siren Pro Series HS71512 3 Radon Gas Detector
The Safety Siren Pro Series HS71512 3 Radon Gas Detector is the only EPA evaluated radon gas alarm that can effectively protect your family from lung cancer that is brought about by radon gas exposure. This is not just a single use radon test detection kit. As advertised on TV, this digital radon gas monitor will continuously monitor the presence of radon gas in your home. You will be able to see the short-term as well as the long-term radon levels in the clear, easily readable digital radon level display. After 48 hours of radon sampling, the first radon reading will be given by the Safety Siren electronic radon monitor.
The digital display range of the unit is from 0.1 to 999.9 in pCi/L. It can give a short term reading of 7 days radon average. For long term, you can get radon averages the day you start using the detector or your last reset, with a 5-year maximum period. When the level of radon gas averages 4 pCi/L or higher an alarm will sound. There is a 4 function menu button Green LED that lights next to S (short-term) or L (long-term) display. You can do a fail safe self test every 24 hours. If test fails, an error code is displayed. Mute can be activated while the unit is in alarm mode. The natural result of uranium breaking down in soil is radon gas. It can be present in the air or water and poses a health hazard. Lung cancer may result if you are exposed to radon gas. Radon gas levels vary according to the season and humidity therefore continuous home radon monitoring is recommended.
